Graphic
Design Portfolio-Builder was published in 2006 through the leading art/design publisher Peachpit. The book's goal was to provide hands-on projects
to help designers fill gaps in their portfolio.
Projects include a magazine cover design, product illustration,
poster design, print ads, packaging design, and more.
About Graphic Design
Portfolio Builder
Self-paced, self-guided instruction is all well and
good, but at the end of the day, most people could use
a little feedback, especially when they're ready to
build a design portfolio and hit the job market. This 2006 title provided a uniqiue combination of self-paced, individualized instruction
in Photoshop and Illustrator (CS2 version) and actual instructor feedback in an online learning environment.
Written by the faculty of Sessions College, the book used the
school's trademark project-based curriculum to teach
essential design concepts with Photoshop and Illustrator.
After a brief intro to the world of graphic design,
Sessions instructors provided quick "refresher course"
chapters on the two programs. Then, armed with Photoshop
and Illustrator basics, readers tackled a series of projects
involving logo design, magazine layouts, illustrations,
poster design, digital imaging, book cover design, packaging
design, and more. Through December 2009, readers were able to access expert
feedback from Sessions faculty by posting their work
on a custom site set up just for them. |
